BCC Vs Good Councel

BCC vs Good Counsel
In their second game of the season, BCC hosted Good Counsel, and they picked up where they left off the previous game, scoring a goal in the first five minutes of the half. Senior captain Catherine Mirsky fired in a goal off a penalty corner insert from fellow senior captain Clare Becker.
Although the Barons got off to a quick start, Good Counsel’s defense managed to quiet the BCC offense the rest of the game. Front line players Becker, Kelsey Kiser, and Paige Donnelley combined for several threatening attacks, but none that got past the Falcon’s goalkeeper.
A goal from Good Counsel evened the score in the first half, and the two sides battled up and down the field. Mirsky and fellow middies Rachel Ruda and Charlotte Kettler, did a good job of feeding the front line, bolstered later by Jenn Dewey and Rachel Keeling. And the Barons defensive line of senior captain Julia Pernick and juniors Meredith Storm, Sunny Cobb, and Ruth Andrews pushed back the Falcon attack repeatedly. Senior Clare Vieth again kick-saved several threatening shots, making a total of 7 saves in the second half.
But in the second half, Good Counsel added another goal to take the lead and give the Barons their first loss of the season.
